Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2, 2026
These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of Inku (“the app”), an iOS instant-camera app published by a small studio based in Paris, France. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What Inku is
Inku is a single-user instant-camera app. You take a photo, write a short line under it while it develops, and the result lives on your private map. The app runs entirely on your iPhone — there is no server-side account, no profile, and no social network.
2. Your content
- You own everything you create in Inku. The photos you take, the lines you write, the captures on your map — they are yours. We claim no ownership over any of it.
- You are responsible for what you create. Do not use Inku to capture or write anything that is illegal where you are. Do not photograph people without their consent if local law requires it. Do not write anything that harasses, threatens, or harms another person.
- Sharing is your choice. Inkus you share via the iOS share sheet leave the app at your direction. We have no role in moderating shared content; the platform you share to (iMessage, Mail, third-party app) has its own policies.
3. Inku Plus and purchases
Inku is free to download. Free users have access to the first three printers and a one-time pool of 20 free captures. Inku Plus is a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks every printer (including post-launch additions) and removes the capture limit.
- All purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Refunds, billing, and disputes are handled by Apple under Apple Media Services Terms.
- Inku Plus is a lifetime unlock — there is no recurring subscription. Once purchased, it remains tied to your Apple ID and restores across devices via the Restore Purchases button.
- Future printers added to the app are included in Inku Plus at no additional cost.
4. Things you agree not to do
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's source.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass any purchase or unlock mechanism.
- Use Inku to violate any law, regulation, or third party's rights.
- Resell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app without our written consent.
5. Our content
The app's code, artwork, mascot, brand name, printer designs, fonts, and animations are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control. You do not receive ownership of any intellectual property by downloading or using the app.
6. App Store distribution
Inku is distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple's Usage Rules apply to your use of the app on Apple devices. In the event of any conflict, Apple's Usage Rules prevail to the extent of the conflict.
7. Warranties and liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or, where no payment was made, fifty euros (€50).
8. Termination
You can stop using Inku at any time by deleting the app. We can suspend or terminate access to the app at our discretion if you breach these Terms. Sections on content ownership, our content, liability, and the choice of law survive termination.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring action elsewhere.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app on first launch after the update.
